September Anticipated Releases

images from google official synopsis's from Goodreads

For the month of September, I only have books on this list. However, if you know of any exciting anime, video games, or other books I have not mentioned coming out in the month of September feel free to comment down below.

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik:

A Deadly Education (Scholomance, #1) by Naomi Novik

This book is coming out on September 29 and is being published by Del Rey Books.

Synopsis:

"Learning has never been this deadly

A Deadly Education is set at Scholomance, a school for the magically gifted where failure means certain death (for real) — until one girl, El, begins to unlock its many secrets. There are no teachers, no holidays, and no friendships, save strategic ones. Survival is more important than any letter grade, for the school won’t allow its students to leave until they graduate… or die! The rules are deceptively simple: Don’t walk the halls alone. And beware of the monsters who lurk everywhere. El is uniquely prepared for the school’s dangers. She may be without allies, but she possesses a dark power strong enough to level mountains and wipe out millions. It would be easy enough for El to defeat the monsters that prowl the school. The problem? Her powerful dark magic might also kill all the other students."

The cover for this book is absolutely gorgeous with black and gold. This is the first book in a new series by Naomi Novik and I am so excited for when it comes out.

Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin:

Blood & Honey (Serpent & Dove, #2) by Shelby Mahurin

This book is coming out on September 1 and is being published by HarperTeen.

Synopsis: (as this is the second book in the series I will include the synopsis for the first book Serpent and Dove.)

"Two years ago, Louise le Blanc fled her coven and took shelter in the city of Cesarine, forsaking all magic and living off whatever she could steal. There, witches like Lou are hunted. They are feared. And they are burned.

Sworn to the Church as a Chasseur, Reid Diggory has lived his life by one principle: thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. His path was never meant to cross with Lou's, but a wicked stunt forces them into an impossible union—holy matrimony.

The war between witches and Church is an ancient one, and Lou's most dangerous enemies bring a fate worse than fire. Unable to ignore her growing feelings, yet powerless to change what she is, a choice must be made.
And love makes fools of us all."

This book is the second book in the Serpent and Dove trilogy. Or at least I am pretty sure it's going to only be a trilogy. I love the cover for this one as well. However, it is pretty much the cover for the first book with the colours changed around. Although I still think the gold and black on the red look absolutely stunning, when I compare it to the first cover it's definitely not the best.

The Other Side of the Sky by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner:

The Other Side of the Sky by Amie Kaufman

This book is coming out on September 8 and is being published by HarperTeen.

Synopsis:

"Prince North’s home is in the sky, in a gleaming city held aloft by intricate engines, powered by technology. Nimh is the living goddess of her people on the Surface, responsible for providing answers, direction—hope.

North’s and Nimh’s lives are entwined—though their hearts can never be. Linked by a terrifying prophecy and caught between duty and fate, they must choose between saving their people or succumbing to the bond that is forbidden between them."

This book is the first book in a new series by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. They have written many books together before so I am really excited to read this new book by them. Also, I love the fact that there is a cat on the cover.

The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi:

The Silvered Serpents: Amazon.ca: Chokshi, Roshani: Books

This book is coming out on September 22 and is being published by Wednesday Books.

Synopsis: (Since this is the second book in The Gilded Wolves series I will include the synopsis for the first book.)

"It's 1889. The city is on the cusp of industry and power, and the Exposition Universelle has breathed new life into the streets and dredged up ancient secrets. Here, no one keeps tabs on dark truths better than treasure-hunter and wealthy hotelier Séverin Montagnet-Alarie. When the elite, ever-powerful Order of Babel coerces him to help them on a mission, Séverin is offered a treasure that he never imagined: his true inheritance.

To hunt down the ancient artifact the Order seeks, Séverin calls upon a band of unlikely experts: An engineer with a debt to pay. A historian banished from his home. A dancer with a sinister past. And a brother in arms if not blood.

Together, they will join Séverin as he explores the dark, glittering heart of Paris. What they find might change the course of history--but only if they can stay alive."

The cover for this book is stunning. I love it even more than the cover for book one. The red and other colours on the cover look so striking against the white and silver.

Fable by Adrienne Young:

Fable (Fable, #1) by Adrienne Young

Fable is coming out on September 1 and is being released by Wednesday Books.

Synopsis:

As the daughter of the most powerful trader in the Narrows, the sea is the only home seventeen-year-old Fable has ever known. It’s been four years since the night she watched her mother drown during an unforgiving storm. The next day her father abandoned her on a legendary island filled with thieves and little food. To survive she must keep to herself, learn to trust no one, and rely on the unique skills her mother taught her. The only thing that keeps her going is the goal of getting off the island, finding her father, and demanding her rightful place beside him and his crew. To do so Fable enlists the help of a young trader named West to get her off the island and across the Narrows to her father.

But her father’s rivalries and the dangers of his trading enterprise have only multiplied since she last saw him and Fable soon finds that West isn't who he seems. Together, they will have to survive more than the treacherous storms that haunt the Narrows if they're going to stay alive.

This book sounds like it is going to be amazing. I am really excited for when this one comes out on the first.

Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite by Zoraida Còrdova, Natalie C. Parker, Samira Ahmed, Dhonielle Clayton, Tessa Gratton, Heidi Heilig, Julie Murphy, Mark Oshiro, Rebecca Roanhorse, Laura Ruby, Victoria Schwab, and Kayla Whaley:

Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite by Zoraida Córdova

This book is coming out on September 22 and is being published by Imprint.

Synopsis:

"In this delicious new collection, you’ll find stories about lurking vampires of social media, rebellious vampires hungry for more than just blood, eager vampires coming out―and going out for their first kill―and other bold, breathtaking, dangerous, dreamy, eerie, iconic, powerful creatures of the night.

Welcome to the evolution of the vampire―and a revolution on the page."

This book contains eleven different short stories about vampires. I am really excited about this book mainly because it has a story by Victoria Schwab. I haven't really read books by any of the other authors but I am also anticipating reading their short stories and possibly picking up some of their other books.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas:

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

This book is coming out on September 1 and is being published by Swoon Reads.

Synopsis:

"When his traditional Latinx family has problems accepting his gender, Yadriel becomes determined to prove himself a real brujo. With the help of his cousin and best friend Maritza, he performs the ritual himself and then sets out to find the ghost of his murdered cousin and set it free.

However, the ghost he summons is actually Julian Diaz, the school’s resident bad boy, and Julian is not about to go quietly into death. He’s determined to find out what happened and tie up some loose ends before he leaves. Left with no choice, Yadriel agrees to help Julian, so that they can both get what they want. But the longer Yadriel spends with Julian, the less he wants to let him leave."

I am really excited about this book. It sounds really interesting, and the cover is also pretty great.

The Lost Book of White by Cassandra Clare and Wesley Chu

The Lost Book of the White by Cassandra Clare

This book is coming out on September 1 and is being published by Simon & Schuster.

Synopsis: (Since this is the second book in The Eldest Curses series I will include the synopsis for The Red Scrolls of Magic.)

"All Magnus Bane wanted was a vacation—a lavish trip across Europe with Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter who against all odds is finally his boyfriend. But as soon as the pair settles in Paris, an old friend arrives with news about a demon-worshipping cult called the Crimson Hand that is bent on causing chaos around the world. A cult that was apparently founded by Magnus himself. Years ago. As a joke.

Now Magnus and Alec must race across Europe to track down the Crimson Hand and its elusive new leader before the cult can cause any more damage. As if it wasn’t bad enough that their romantic getaway has been sidetracked, demons are now dogging their every step, and it is becoming harder to tell friends from foe. As their quest for answers becomes increasingly dire, Magnus and Alec will have to trust each other more than ever—even if it means revealing the secrets they’ve both been keeping."

loved Magnus and Alec from The Mortal Instruments series so the fact that they are getting their own series is incredible. I am so excited about this book. I love the cover.

Skyhunter by Marie Lu:

Skyhunter (Skyhunter, #1) by Marie Lu

This book is coming out on September 29 and is being published by Roaring Brook Press.

Synopsis:

"The Karensa Federation has conquered a dozen countries, leaving Mara as one of the last free nations in the world. Refugees flee to their borders to escape a fate worse than death―transformation into mutant war beasts known as Ghosts, creatures the Federation then sends to attack Mara.

The legendary Strikers, Mara’s elite fighting force, are trained to stop these monsters. But as the number of Ghosts grows and Karensa closes in, defeat seems inevitable.

Still, one Striker refuses to give up hope.
Robbed of her voice and home, Talin Kanami knows firsthand the brutality of the Federation. Their cruelty forced her and her mother to seek asylum in a country that finds their people repugnant. She finds comfort only with a handful of fellow Strikers who have pledged their lives to one another, soldiers determined to push Karensa back at all costs.
After another devastating battle, Mara seems ready to fall. But when a mysterious prisoner is brought from the front, Talin senses there’s more to him than meets the eye. Is he a spy from the Federation? Or could he be the weapon that will save them all?"

This one sounds really interesting. The cover on the other hand is definitely not my favourite. I mean I love all the colours on the cover but compared with some of the other covers of books coming out next month this one is definitely not one of my favourites. I do really like the thing going on on the cover with the character's silhouette.

Queen of Volts by Amanda Foody:

Queen of Volts (The Shadow Game, #3) by Amanda Foody

This book is coming out on September 1 and is being published by Inkyard Press.

Synopsis: (since this is the third and final book in the series I will be using the synopsis from book one Ace of Shades so people do not get spoiled on anything

"Enne Salta was raised as a proper young lady, and no lady would willingly visit New Reynes, the so-called City of Sin. But when her mother goes missing, Enne must leave her finishing school—and her reputation—behind to follow her mother’s trail to the city where no one survives uncorrupted.

Frightened and alone, Enne has only one lead: the name Levi Glaisyer. Unfortunately, Levi is not the gentleman she expected—he’s a street lord and a con man. Levi is also only one payment away from cleaning up a rapidly unraveling investment scam, so he doesn't have time to investigate a woman leading a dangerous double life. Enne's offer of compensation, however, could be the solution to all his problems.

Their search for clues leads them through glamorous casinos, illicit cabarets, and into the clutches of a ruthless Mafia donna. As Enne unearths an impossible secret about her past, Levi's enemies catch up to them, ensnaring him in a vicious execution game where the players always lose. To save him, Enne will need to surrender herself to the city…"

really love the cover for this one. Purple is my favourite colour so I love it when it's on book covers. This series is one in general where all the covers are absolutely spectacular.

Majesty by Katharine McGee:

Majesty (American Royals, #2) by Katharine McGee

This book is coming out on September 1 and is being published by Random House Books for Young Readers

Synopsis: (since this is the second book in the American royals series I will be using the synopsis from book one American Royals.)

"When America won the Revolutionary War, its people offered General George Washington a crown. Two and a half centuries later, the House of Washington still sits on the throne.
As Princess Beatrice gets closer to becoming America's first queen regnant, the duty she has embraced her entire life suddenly feels stifling.
Nobody cares about the spare except when she's breaking the rules, so Princess Samantha doesn't care much about anything, either . . . except the one boy who is distinctly off-limits to her.
And then there's Samantha's twin, Prince Jefferson. If he'd been born a generation earlier, he would have stood first in line for the throne, but the new laws of succession make him third. Most of America adores their devastatingly handsome prince . . . but two very different girls are vying to capture his heart."

The concept for this series in general sounds really good. I also really like the cover designs for this series.

Anxious People by Fredrick Backman:

Anxious People: Backman, Fredrik: 9781982121600: Books - Amazon.ca

This book is coming out on September 8 and is being published by Atria Books.

Synopsis:

"This is a poignant comedy about a crime that never took place, a would-be bank robber who disappears into thin air, and eight extremely anxious strangers who find they have more in common than they ever imagined.

Viewing an apartment normally doesn’t turn into a life-or-death situation, but this particular open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes everyone in the apartment hostage. As the pressure mounts, the eight strangers slowly begin opening up to one another and reveal long-hidden truths.

As police surround the premises and television channels broadcast the hostage situation live, the tension mounts, and even deeper secrets are slowly revealed. Before long, the robber must decide which is the more terrifying prospect: going out to face the police, or staying in the apartment with this group of impossible people."

This book sounds incredibly unique. I am really excited to read it and I have heard nothing but incredible things about the author.

Snow White with the Red Hair Vol. 9 by Sorata Akiduki:

Snow White with the Red Hair, Vol. 9 | Book by Sorata Akiduki ...

This manga is coming out on September 1 and is being published by VIZ Media LLC.

Synopsis: (Since this is the ninth volume in the series I will be using the synopsis for volume one.)

"A romantic retelling of a classic fairy tale about a beautiful herbalist and a lovestruck prince.
Shirayuki is an herbalist famous for her naturally bright-red hair, and the prince of Tanbarun wants her all to himself! Unwilling to become the prince’s possession, she seeks shelter in the woods of the neighboring kingdom, where she gains an unlikely ally—the prince of that kingdom! He rescues her from her plight, and thus begins the love story between a lovestruck prince and an unusual herbalist."

I love this series so much. I also really love the anime based on this manga series so if you haven't watched it yet I highly recommend checking it out before or after starting to read the series. I really love this cover. It is one of my favourite covers in the series so far.

There are so many exciting new releases coming out next month. What are you excited about that is coming out during the month of September? Comment down below, and thanks so much for reading.
